It’s been a little while since our last charity update just before Christmas, and we thought it would be great to let you all know what’s been going on recently and what we have got to look forward to very soon!
JJMF Stretcher Race – Saturday 16th June
With this year marking 10 years since Pte Jeff ‘JJ’ Doherty was killed in Afghanistan, we want to make this 9th Stretcher Race the biggest and best yet. So far, we have a fantastic day and night planned at The Bowling Green, Southam, including:
- Family fun all day, including stalls, ice creams, bouncy castle and face painting!
- BBQ served all day from 13:30-21:00, and the main menu also served from 12:00-16:00
- Stretcher Race at 5pm, with the Red Devils due to jump into Southam Rec straight after!
- Silent Auction brought to us from Snapshot Art
- Charity Raffle
- Cocktail hour
- Live music from 18:30-20:30!
- DJ from 20:00-Late
- And much more…
If you would like to have a stall on the day, or would like to donate a raffle prize, we would be most grateful! Please get in touch with Joyce or Jeff, or email info@jjsmemorialfund.co.uk.
We hope to see you all there for what is set to be an amazing day!
Update On Little Breya
As our charity supporters will know, all of the profit from last year’s Stretcher Race went towards #TeamBreya.
We are delighted to hear that Breya is doing fantastically well and has just completed her final days of UK treatment!
Connor “The Lion” Vian Remains Undefeated – 7 Fights, 7 Wins!
Last Saturday, 14th April, Connor Vian’s 7th professional fight took place at York Hall, Bethnal Green, London. He absolutely smashed it and was victorious again, not that we doubted him for a second! Well done Airborne!
Scott Meenagh At The Paralympics
We are incredibly proud of Scott Meenagh, who in March became the first British Para Nordic skier to represent his country at the 2018 Paralympic Winter Games in PyeongChang. We are blown away by the level of Scott’s achievements over the past few years and look forward to supporting him in everything he does the future!
Thank You To Alan Norris
A huge Thank You again to Alan Norris, who since our last blog update has been continuing to support us every time he plays. Your support is truly appreciated by all of us at JJMF!

Congratulations to The Lawford Whites
A huge well done to The Lawford Whites, who after a season working incredibly hard and giving it their all, won the Warwickshire U15’s League Cup. As The Lawford Whites are sponsored by JJMF and play with our logo on their shirts, we couldn’t be more proud of their achievement. Well done, lads!
